The Cowtown Classic Bike
Ride was resurrected this year courtesy of the Lance
Armstrong Foundation and the local Kiwanis club. The heat
and humidity seemed to relent a bit which made riding more
enjoyable than in the weeks previous. Above, the lead pack
passes by somewhere just after the mid-point of the 100K
route. Team members Mike Reade and Tino Sonora (who
claimed his TBi Jersey was "in the wash") help
drive the pace which started fast and continued fast
- 26+ mph average over the 64 miles.

The start was extremely
fast - reaching 35+ mph within the first mile. The result
was 100K riders were strewn though-out the course: Mike
Reade & Ray Brindle / Ray Brindle / Ron Ennis & Casey
Gordon / Jerry Vargas / Eric Reyes, Andy Hollinger & Matt
Sauls /

Steve and Pam Bates / Chris
Dow / Greg Kloesel / (the back of) Jamie Connally & Dean
Wilkenson / Tom Fitzgerald (Rally KING) & Andrea Schneider

Rick Wilson / Deanna
Showalter & Victoria Hollinger / John Blakely

The "Pack Strategy Leader"
John Woodson brings his whole family to the ride. Here we
see him cleverly draft his sons thereby reserving his
strength for the finish line sprint - the result of which
is still unknown. Mom, Gina, may have craftily drafted
John the entire distance and swooped him at the line. We
don't know - we may never know.
